Zoom: The camera is listed as having a 10x zoom. What that actually means is that the camera is FIXED at 10x zoom. You cannot change the zoom level (or at least, not without webcam software). This is important if you expect to have the camera right in front of you, since your face will be pretty big in the picture.
I have a 10x digital f 3.85 mm Webcam that my roomate bought off of Ebay sometime ago and I currently don't know ehere to get the drivers or software. The only other description on this item is a sticker with chinease markings. This is exactly what it looks like.

It's an old message, but I think this may be seen occasionally, I found it very helpful. This company makes a freeware application for generic control of 'any' type of webcam.
The company produces all kinds of software for video, but this one application does allow you create videos and take photos even using this type of basic camera. If you use the free software named MEDIAINFO, downloadable from SOURCEFORGE, then you will be able to check every technical detail about any video you have created from this camera (or any other camera of course). NOTE: As much as I hate to have to mention this, the MYCAM software mentioned above will try to install malware during installation - it will ask if it's ok to install a search engine (Definately DONT allow this, click on SKIP during the installation just to get past that part). I know authors have to make money, but really, installing malware??
Why not just do a trial and charge £2 or something? I'd happily pay more as it is good software though. These 10x zoom webcams are also all Plug n Play as mentioned above (Windows XP and above, I'm not sure about LINUX or MAC sorry). If with Windows it still says it cannot find drivers, then update to Service Pack 3 on XP.
Also, the Zoom feature on these cams is a trick - as Fhotoace says, it just crops and zooms on the PC itself, so you get a zoomed in blurry photo - note that the lens on these webcams can actually be rotated to adjust the focus slightly. And finally, who on earth decided they are 4 megapixel? It says on the webcams front f=3.85mm This has nothing to do with actual megapixel sizes, it's a very different type of technical setting, google for it. Tsk tsk, 4 megapixel indeed!
Still a very good little camera though compared to many of the cheap and nasty ones available. Tell us some more. Upload in Progress. Upload failed.
